Talk in Persian (Farsi) by Mr. Rashid Mostaghim

Rashid Mostaghim holds a unique place in the history of Iranian television and music as the first singer to appear on Iran’s inaugural television station. In 1959 (1338 SH), he debuted with the weekly program “Bazm-e Sokhan,” broadcast on the country’s first television station, established by Habibollah Sabet. This groundbreaking show, which ran until 1963 (1342 SH) and aired more than 200 live performances, brought Persian poetry and traditional music into the homes of ordinary Iranians for the first time. The program featured collaborations with esteemed figures such as Persian literature professor Dr. Dariush Sabour, who introduced poets and analyzed their literary significance, alongside a host of talented artists.  Each episode showcased a poet’s work, brought to life through live recitations and performances by Rashid Mostaghim. It  marked the first time Iranian music and poetry were accessible to the general public, breaking away from its previous exclusivity to the elite, making Rashid Mostaghim’s performances a cultural milestone in both music and media.
