Dear Friends,

Please join us for our next virtual Soul Food.

This month’s program is called “A Time for Renewal” and aims to reflect on rejuvenation and transformation, and how these two principles affect our material and spiritual development.

We all feel a desire to help one another and to see the society around us advance and prosper. We all look forward to a future where peace and harmony have been established and the peoples of the world live in unity. This effort can grow and bear fruit as more and more of us unite in service to humanity. Deep in our hearts each of us has the desire to serve our communities. Explore with us at Soul Food how we can develop our capacity to undertake acts of service selflessly and purely for the good of others.

Our performer this month is Zura Kobakhidze. Zura is internationally applauded as one of his generation’s most gifted musical minds. His performances have earned critical acclaim worldwide in more than twenty different cities, ten countries, and three continents. He holds a Master of Music Degree with the highest honors from the prestigious Juilliard School. Zura showed interest for music very early in his childhood. His firsts encounters with piano were when he was only ten months old—he would baby-walk to the piano at his home and start banging his hands on the keyboard to make sounds. He started formal music training relatively late at the age of nine. After a few years of learning, he became the gold medalist at the 11th Konzerteum International Piano Competition in Athens, Greece and was awarded the Most Promising Young Talent Prize. At the age of sixteen, he was invited to Paris, where he gave a recital and participated in a classical music broadcast on Radio France. Zura’s style combines legendary Russian piano tradition and Juilliard’s renowned curriculum with his own cutting edge practice methods, memory drills and performance strategies.
“Soul Food“ seeks to create an atmosphere for reflection and spiritual growth combining live music, audio visual presentations, and recitation of sacred writings from diverse faiths and indigenous cultures and the writings of philosophers, authors and leaders of thought from all over the world.
