An event every month that begins at 11:00 am on day Last of the month, repeating indefinitely
Soul Food is a special monthly event that is now held in over 20 locations across the world! It began in Australia, and has now spread to New Zealand, the United States and Canada. The newest addition to the Soul Food family is now being hosted at the Bahá’í Center in Costa Mesa. Ours is held on the last Sunday of each month, at 10:30 AM.
What is Soul Food? Quite simply, it is food for the soul – in the form of thoughtful and meditative readings, artistic expression, and yes, food for the body as well. Soul Food creates a tranquil environment by projecting beautiful images and playing ambient music during the recitation of inspired passages on a chosen theme.
By using sacred writings from many faiths and cultures, Soul Food seeks to unite diverse people as we contemplate the common threads of human experience that bind us all together. Our commonality is further illustrated by readings taken from philosophers, poets and thought leaders from all over the world. We hope this atmosphere promotes reflection and spiritual growth. And because music uplifts the soul, the latter half of the program features a live musical performance as wings for the spirit.
Soul Food is a free community event – open to all.
When? Last Sunday of each month.
